I. Business & Corporate Practice
Our Singaporean counterparts provide assistance in establishing and running of business operations in Singapore, including setting up structures relating to share capital and management. Our counterparts in Singapore have a proven track record for the establishing and running of business operations in Singapore. The scope of services provided by our Singaporean counterparts business practice includes:
• Registration of limited liability companies and partnerships, branch offices, and representatives offices;
• Corporate secretarial services for both private and public listed companies;
• Commercial and contractual agreements of general and specific nature;
• Corporate finance documentation for the financing and securitization of loans and/or facilities granted by financial institutions for the acquisition of assets;
• Mergers and acquisitions and the incidental due diligence exercises to facilitate the same; and
• Immigration matters including the applications for employment passes for clients’ foreign employees and permanent residencies and citizenship.

II. Intellectual Property & IT practice group
The IP Practice Group of our counterparts in Singapore specializes in assisting our clients with
1. Obtaining effective protection of their IP, whether these are in the form of patents, trade marks, designs, copyright, trade secrets or know-how; and
2. The commercialization, exploitation and licensing of IP.
The scope of services under the IP head encompasses all aspects of development and commercialisation, from advising on licensing terms and collaborative research agreements to technology transfer arrangements, joint ventures and global exploitation arrangements.
Our Singaporean counterparts have spearheaded the formation of the international association for trade mark lawyers known as International Trademark Counsel in Singapore. This association acts to continually keep the Practice Group at the cutting edge of international IP laws and practice to provide our clients consistently with up-to-date and relevant advice. III. Information Technology (IT)
Internet web presence is in this age a vital part of the strategic plans of most businesses whether for purposes of marketing or for the performance of actual business functions. Lawyers in our Singaporean counterparts’ IT Practice Group regularly advise clients on a variety of issues relating to information technology, including verification, validation, enforceability of terms and conditions, electronic product distribution, support, merchant agreements, privacy, data collection and usage issues. Business and domain names form a critical part of the branding strategy of most businesses. The Practice Group also retains a full range of registration services for business and domain names, in Singapore or beyond.
IV. Arbitration & Conciliation with SIAC
1. Our Singaporean counterparts served as Arbitrators empanelled in the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) who have been involved in dispute resolution both as arbitrators or as counsel for many years, the latter being a recognized specialist.
2. Our Singaporean counterparts are also able to advise and be involved in dispute resolution in the fields of media and entertainment, art, shipping and real estate.
3. In addition they also have lawyers who are experienced in conducting various types of mediations , both in the High Court and the Subordinate Courts in Singapore, as well as with the Singapore Mediation Centre, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industries and the Consumers Association of Singapore .
4. Our Singaporean counterparts also have language competency in Mandarin, Shanghainese and Cantonese and are able to work as arbitrators or mediators or represent parties where the applicable law for contracts is Chinese Law.
